Dori Stiefel

Dori has 25 years’ experience serving not-for-profits, government, and industry to co-create organizational commitments, re-align organizations, and easily-produce outcomes. She has conducted extensive co-authored academic research on climate change adaptation, sustainability, human existential risk reduction, unintended consequences, and futures, all of which is published in journals as varied as Sustainability and Risk Analysis. She has also taught university entrepreneurship classes. Dori holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, Tennessee); a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Virginia (Charlottesville, Virginia); and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Mary Baldwin University (Staunton, Virginia).

Emily excels at making connections that cross issues and systems – social, technological, economic, environmental, political, and health. She combines substantive knowledge in marine science and coastal policy with broad science and technology policy expertise to ask sophisticated questions, incorporate information from contrasting fields, and produce creative answers. Leveraging over a decade of experience with Thrivner, Inc. as well as experience with the American Geosciences Institute, National Science and Technology Council’s Subcommittee on Disaster Reduction, U.S. Group on Earth Observations, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and an extensive personal network, Emily is a veteran at examining problems and working together to develop and communicate solutions . She holds a B.S. in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina (Columbia, South Carolina).

Her organization skills enable her to handle multiple assignments under high pressure and to consistently meet tight deadlines. Jenni holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration on Rhetoric and Writing from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville, TN).
